Calling all new Member States municipalities!

New additional funding from INTERREG IIIC West is enabling the PIMMS project to invite municipalities from the 12 new Member States to visit its existing project partners and benefit from their experiences. The series of Study Tours and Staff Exchanges will help the visitors learn about their hosts’ successes in mobility management, and how to replicate them in their own municipalities.

Grouping eight partners from eight EU countries, the project’s overall goal is for more regional transport policies to consider environmental and social concerns and encourage better use of transport resources.

Paul Henderson of the London European Partnership for Transport is the project manager. He said: “PIMMS partners all report that their visits have made a real impact back home. We’re delighted that we can now offer the same possibility to our colleagues from the new Member States”.

Interested municipalities should contact secretariat@pimms-eu.org for an info pack and application form. Applications close on 30-April.

PIMMS is one of the seven West operations to receive additional funding following a decision by the West Steering Committee made on 16 January 2007. The other projects are RECORE, ASCEND, LNet, AWARE, MASCARA and Tele Medicine.
